Wood Shop Orientation and Safety Training is intended to:

  • Familiarize you with the Wood Shop and its resources
  • Introduce you to the machines and power tools you are most likely to use
  • Demonstrate how to use those machines and power tools safely
  • Give you hands-on experience in operating those machines and power tools safely
  • Show location of E STOP, first aid kit, eye wash station, fire extinguisher and emergency exits
  • Is required in order to obtain access to the Industrial Room equipment

You will make a small step stool as part of the class and wood included in the cost.

NOTE: Masks are encouraged. We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up. Please bring a lunch.

Youth participants must be supervised by an adult who is also taking the course.
