This is an introduction into the world of computerized woodworking. Using our Makerspace CNC Router, you will learn the process of turning your idea into a finished piece. Students must be comfortable using a Windows based computer to run the software and equipment.

In this class you will learn the basics of designing for the CNC router and how to safely operate the machine. Next step… dream up crazy things that you want to make on the CNC. The software we will use is user friendly and opens the door for your creativity to flow.

This machine is complex and easily broken, so taking the course is mandatory. Even after taking it, some help may be required, but you will know how to keep yourself and the machine safe.

Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie up long hair. Ear plugs and safety glasses will be provided.

The workshop consists of 3 classes lasting approximately 2.5 hours each, spread over 3 weeks (1 class per week) for a total length of 7.5 hours.
