This course allows participants to build a simple but classic style of sled that's suitable for a range of ages. It can be used to tow the little ones in the snow or the backrest can be removed for forward face riding down the slopes. It also serves well as a gift or window display.
We use re-cycled cross country skis, and the body of the sled is 2x4 material with 1x4 cross bracing. A variety of hardwoods are used on the slats and the backrest is 1/2" plywood. All the materials are supplied except the paint or varnish (which is to be done separately from this class).
The fee is $215 for ages 16 and up. All materials are supplied except the paint & varnish.
