Mason Bee House: Senior (55+) and Youth (9+) ~ Build a Mason Bee House Together! ~ No experience necessary

Join us for this multi-generational project. Each team will build one mason bee house, complete with a cocoon nursery. Mason Bee cocoons can then be purchased in April from Buckerfields in Salmon Arm ($18). The bees will multiple our local Mason Bee population!

Mason Bees are the 'Superheroes' of the gardening world. If you are into growing vegetables, flowers, fruit, or any outdoor plants, you can benefit from Mason Bees. They pollinate about 6-7x more than Honeybees!  (And remember, herbicides and pesticides harm our bees. It's beneficial to have diversity in your lawn!).        

• 2 classes to choose from:                      
•  Saturday, April 9 from 10:30am - 12:30pm or 1:30pm - 3:30pm at the Shuswap Makerspace in the Innovation Centre (downstairs) 220 Shuswap St. NE (The big colourful building downtown). 

This course has a total value of $80, but it will be offered at $40 for pairs aged 55+ and 9+ as part of our Federally funded seniors' workshop series running throughout 2022 at the Innovation Centre and Shuswap Makerspace in downtown Salmon Arm (the big colourful building). The cost is $80 for pairs where the adult is under 55 years of age.

• ***Register soon as space is limited to 6 people (3 adults and 3 youth) for each class***

• NOTE: Please wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up.
