Join us for this multi-generational project. Each team will build one mason bee house, complete with a cocoon nursery. Mason Bee cocoons can then be purchased in April from Buckerfields in Salmon Arm ($18). The bees will multiple our local Mason Bee population!
Mason Bees are the 'Superheroes' of the gardening world. If you are into growing vegetables, flowers, fruit, or any outdoor plants, you can benefit from Mason Bees. They pollinate about 6-7x more than Honeybees! (And remember, herbicides and pesticides harm our bees. It's beneficial to have diversity in your lawn!).
***Register soon as space is limited to 6 people (3 adults and 3 youth) for each class***
NOTE: Please wear closed-toed shoes. Long hair must be tied up.
Instructors: Pat Shea, and the Makerspace woodshop team.
