USING ONSHAPE
Get an introduction to 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) using Onshape; a fantastically capable online 3D CAD program.
This course is the first of four courses being run by the Shuswap MakerSpace.
This introductory course assumes no prior knowledge of Design or 3D software.
This course will cover the following topics:
- provide a solid introduction to Onshape's interface
- have a focus on learning about 2D sketching; which is the starting point for 3D CAD
- introduce the basics of features, which build off of sketches to create 3d parts
- introduction to creating Drawings, and files (that can be used for 3D printing and CNC cutting)
COURSE DELIVERY
Course will be hosted in the Innovation Centre's main boardroom. The class will be shown on Zoom as well to allow students to attend virtually when in person is not practical.
Maximum class size of 15 students.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
This course is using Onshape, which requires a computer with a modern web browser (Chrome / Firefox / Safari). Onshape can also work on iPad/iPhone, but for this course we will be teaching from the PC interface.

You are welcome to bring your personal laptop + a decent mouse. If you don't have a laptop, no worries; the Shuswap Makerspace has a limited number of laptops that can be used for this course.
